Executive Director - Susan Carr
Susan Carr joins the National Association of Social Workers
with deep experience in nonprofit leadership, development, and systems-level
advocacy across the mountain and mid-west regions including Nebraska, Wyoming
and South Dakota. Her career has centered on strengthening organizations that
serve children, families, address issues of poverty, education, and communities
through a combination of data-informed strategy, relationship building, and
values-driven leadership.
Susan has held senior roles in Community Action, housing
advocacy, media, and education philanthropy, where she partnered closely with
social workers, educators, and human service professionals to expand access to
critical supports. Her work has included statewide, regional and national
collaborations, grant development, performance management, board and
association leadership, and capacity building for agencies navigating complex
funding and policy environments.
Grounded in a strong belief in dignity, equity, and
professional ethics and practice, Susan brings a collaborative approach and a
practical understanding of the challenges facing the social work field today.
She is excited to support NASW’s mission and to work alongside members
advancing social justice and strengthening communities.
