Susan Carr
Executive Director, NASW Nebraska Chapter
Susan Carr joins the National Association of Social Workers with deep experience
in nonprofit leadership, development, and systems-level advocacy across the
mountain and mid-west regions, including Nebraska, Wyoming, and South Dakota.
Her career has centered on strengthening organizations that serve children,
families, people experiencing poverty, educators, and communities through
data-informed strategy, relationship building, and values-driven leadership.
Susan has held senior roles in Community Action, housing advocacy, media,
and education philanthropy. In these roles, she has partnered closely with
social workers, educators, and human service professionals to expand access
to critical supports.
Her work has included statewide, regional, and national collaborations,
grant development, performance management, board and association leadership,
and capacity building for agencies navigating complex funding and policy environments.

challenges facing the social work field today.
