NASW-NE Networking & Mentoring

NASW-NE offers members the option of facilitating a networking/mentoring relationship with another NASW-NE member.

Mentoring meets many professional areas of growth and development for different goals across the lifespan of our professional careers. Some members seek mentoring during early stages of their career; others seek it at later stages for job changes, returning to the workplace, or new developmental push to keep one growing and learning.

Members can serve in the mentoring role, willing to share of their knowledge, skills, and expertise or connect with a mentor to gain new insight, make important connections, and learn from their mentor's experience.

The goal of all mentoring relationships is mutual development and growth.

  • Complete the form with as much detail as possible.
  • The information will be confidentially retained by the NASW-NE office, only to be used for mentor-mentee matching purposes.
  • Mentors can decline a mentoring request at any time.
  • Once a mentoring match has been made, the expectation is for a 6-month mentoring commitment.
  • After 6 months, the mentor and mentee will re-evaluate if progress is still being made toward the initial mentoring goal and either end the formal relationship at that time or extend for an additional 6-month commitment.
  • The formal mentoring relationship will then end at one year; and it will be up to the members to decide on their professional relationship and networking moving forward.

  • Once a mentoring match has been made, the expectation is for a 6-month mentoring commitment.
