NASW-Nebraska Student Ambassadors
The NASW-NE Student Ambassador Program is an initiative that identifies passionate and driven social work students across Nebraska to serve as a vital connection between their respective social work programs and the NASW-NE Chapter.
Program Goals:
Bridge Communication:
Strengthen collaboration between accredited social work programs and the NASW-NE chapter regarding policies, opportunities, and resources.
Professional Development:
Offer networking, mentorship, and educational experiences that promote professional growth.
S
tudent Engagement:
Equip students with tools to advocate for social justice and promote NASW initiatives within their academic and local communities
Program Details:
Two ambassadors from each accredited social work program in Nebraska and South Dakota
Monthly Virtual Meetings: discuss student, program, and NASW needs, activities, and opportunities for collaboration
Term: September-May (academic year), can be renewed
Role of a Student Ambassador:
Represent and advocate for the needs of students, respective social work programs, and the NASW-Nebraska chapter
Promote and encourage peer engagement with NASW events, benefits, and initiatives, such as political action and professional development opportunities
Organize and participate in collaborative efforts between school programs and the NASW-Nebraska chapter
Eligibility Requirements:
Reside in Nebraska or South Dakota
Skills in leadership, communication, and collaboration
Commitment to the NASW Code of Ethics
Able to serve full term (academic year)
Active NASW member or willing to join before term
Enrolled in an accredited BSW or MSW program based in Nebraska or South Dakota
